March 4, 2026 – Two Amarillo High School seniors are finalists in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Competition. Finn Archer and Quan Nguyen advance in the competition for one of about 7,500 college scholarships. The National Merit Finalist designation places them among less than one percent of the nation’s graduating seniors in 2026. Year after year, AISD is the only area school system to consistently produce National Merit Scholars. Last fall, ten AISD seniors were named National Merit Commended scholars.
