September 16, 2026 – Amarillo ISD has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the District’s annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. Established by the GFOA in 1945, the program encourages state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to prepare reports that demonstrate public transparency and full disclosure.

As part of the honor, AISD will receive a physical plaque or medallion from the GFOA and has been invited to have members of its financial reporting team join the GFOA Special Review Committee as peer reviewers.
