June 2, 2025 – Amarillo ISD Assistant Director of Athletics Andrea Edwards is the recipient of the first-ever Dr. Charles E. Breithaupt Award from the Texas High School Athletic Directors Association (THSADA). The award is meant to recognize the highest level of excellence and service to the THSADA. The award is named in honor of Breithaupt, longtime executive director of the UIL, who is retiring. Edwards was also named Region 1 Athletic Administrator of the Year this week at the THSADA annual conference.
