As educators, we know learning is a lifelong process. Standard teaching certificates in Texas must be renewed every five years, requiring Continuing Professional Education (CPE). Classroom teachers must complete 150 CPE hours. See the Texas Education Agency's requirements for the 150 hours.

As an educator in Amarillo Independent School Districts, you will receive multiple opportunities to earn CPE hours through on-site staff development. Region 16 also offers a wide variety of training opportunities that count toward CPE hours.
