    The Bridge aids victims of abuse and their families in a home-like environment where the family can meet with investigators and a child can be interviewed on videotape by professionals who specialize in taking testimony of children using non-suggestive techniques.

    This program is for women who need job and life skills training or a boost in self-esteem. It offers free classes in computer programs, career skills, communication, money matters and self-improvement, as well as bible study, to  women age 18 and older. Classes will be limited to the first 16 who sign up. classes are 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday –Thursday in the Spring and Fall.

    CCCS is a non-profit community service that provides confidential, low cost budget and debt management, counseling, housing counseling and educational programs are provided to promote financial literacy. Services are available by phone, in person and on the internet. $20 counseling fee: debt management is on a sliding scale. Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
     

  • DAC is a joint  project between the Amarillo Independent School District and Amarillo College. Participants will be able to earn high school credits along with college credits in technical programs. The criteria for the program is: Students will be between 17-25 years old. Students will need to recover no more than 5 credits to gain a diploma. Students must have been enrolled in AISD when they failed to complete the diploma requirements.     Provides mediation services to residents of the Texas Panhandle. Utilizing volunteer mediators, the center mediates divorce, custody issues, post-divorce problems, neighborhood disputes, minor criminal problems, landlord/tenant disputes, civil lawsuits as referred by the courts and small claims cases. The Center also offers facilitation for meeting or groups.

The program handles housing, consumer, family issues, employment, income maintenance, health, education, and individual rights. The program does not handle bankruptcy, criminal, non-emergency divorces, or fee-generating cases such as person injury.

    Victims of Domestic Violence have access to legal services through Legal Aid at 2:00 p.m. every Monday at Family Support Services. Legal Aid is at Guyon Saunders Resource Center every other Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until everyone has been seen.
